Stuttgart will host Brentford in a pre-season friendly at Zeppelin Stadium on Saturday. Both sides are heading into the tie on the back of victories in their previous warm-up games. The hosts got the better of FC Zurich 3-2 last Saturday, while Brentford defeated Boreham Wood 2-0 in their last outing. Stuttgart didn’t have a great Bundeslia season last term, finishing 15th in the table to avoid relegation by just five points. The English outfit, on the other hand, secured an impressive 13th spot in the 2021-22 Premier League standings.Â

The Bees managed to register 13 wins, 7 draws and 18 defeats in their debut Premier League season. They managed to collect 46 points, 11 points clear of the relegation zone. Brentford have made a couple of new signings, in the form of Arron Hickey, Keane Lewis-Potter and Thomas Strakosha. The future of playmaker Christian Eriksen remains unknown, with the Danish international now a free agent after his short-term deal with the Bees expired last month. Brenford will also play warm-up games against Strasbourg, Wolfsburg, Brighton and Real Betis before the Premier League opener against Leicester City on August 7.
Stuttgart on the other hand, after the Brentford game, will play Valencia before taking on Dynamo in the DFB-Pokal first round fixture and then, will begin their Bundeslia campaign against RB Leipzig on August 7. The Reds began their pre-season with a 7-1 win over Boblingen followed by 3-2 victories against both SV Wehen Wiesbaden and FC Zurich. Die Rotan have managed to make a new signing in the form of Joshua Vagnoman and defender Kostantinos Mavropanos. Sasa Kalajdzic has signed a contract extension amidst interest from the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Stuttgart head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo is likely to use two different teams in the both halves as he did in the previous game against FC Zurich. Summer signing Vagnoman could feature in the wing-back position. Left-back Borna Sosa is sidelined with injury . Midfielders Darko Churlinov and Naouirou Ahamada could be handed starts. As for Brentford, Balcombe could occupy the goal ahead of Strakosh, who joined the club on Thursday. Defender Kristoffer Ajer is nursing a hamstring injury and is expected to be sidelined for a few weeks. Ivan Toney is expected to lead the attack alongside Lewis-Potter.
