The Slovenians currently anchor the group and are in danger of relegation to group c. Matjaz Kek’s side remains the only team in the group who are yet to win after their opening three fixtures. Although Kekci did claim their first point on Thursday against Norway. Despite playing most of the second half a man-less after central defender Miha Blazic got sent off, Slovenia managed to secure a goalless draw against the group-leaders Norway, whose attack was led by Manchester City’s new signing Erling Haalad. Slovenia are struggling to score goals at the moment and defender Petar Stojanovic is their only goal scorer in these Nations League games.
Serbia, on the other hand, has had a fine Nations League campaign so far., winning twice and losing once. The Eagles began with a 1-0 loss to Norway before thrashing Slovenia 4-1 in the reverse fixture last weekend. And then, Dragon Stojkovic’s side got the better of Sweden courtesy of Luka Jovic’s lone goal, last time out. Meanwhile Aleksandar Mitrovic, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Nemanja Radonjic and Jovic were all on target when these two sides faced each other last time. Serbia heads to Ljubljana high on confidence having secured four wins in their last five away games across all competitions, keeping three clean sheets in the process.
