Sligo Rovers will host Finn Harps in an Ireland Premier Division fixture at the Showgrounds Sligo on Saturday. The home side would be looking to move into the top half of the standings while the Finn Harps are hoping to fend off relegation. Both sides head into the tie on the back of draws. Sligo Rovers were held to a 1-1 draw at UCD while the Finn Harps played out a 2-2 draw against Derry City FC last time out. Sligo Rovers are placed sixth in the standings with 25 points from 19 games while the visitors are languishing at 9th place only above UCD.

At UCD Bowl last month, Sligo Rovers took the lead through Karl O’Sullivan before Dylan Duffy equalised for UCD to share the spoils. In the month of May, Sligo Rovers played six games but registered just one victory while three of them ended in defeats. Sligo’s only victory came against Derry City on May 24. Garry Buckley opened the scoring for Sligo before Jamie McGonigle leveled the score and just when it looked like the points would be shared, Seamas Keogh netted an injury-time winner to secure all three points for Sligo. The home side are eight points adrift of the European spot and would be aiming to close the gap on third-placed Derry City, with a victory against the relegation battlers.
Finn Harps, on the other hand, are nine points away from safety and face an uphill task to claw themselves back into contention. The Harps have registered just one win in their last 12 games. Their last victory came against Shelbourne on april 30. After that, the Harps lost four of their five fixtures in May. In their last outing, against Derry City, Filip Mihaljevic and Eric McWoods netted for the Harps, but goals from Will Patching and Eoin Toal ensured that the points were shared at Brandywell.

Sligo Rovers will depend on Aidan Keena to find the back of the net ast the 23-year-old Irishman has already netted seven times this season. William Fitzgerald and Karl O-Sullivan will provide support to Keena up front. As for the Harps, goals have been in short supply this season. Mihaljevic and Mcwoods who netted last time out would be hoping to continue their good form in front of goal.
