Sivasspor will host Malmo FF in the second leg of their Europa League qualifying playoff match at the Yeni Sivas 4 Eylul Stadi on Thursday night. The first leg at Eleda Stadion last week had ended 3-1 in favour of Malmo courtesy of goals from Moustafa Zeidan, Anders Christiansen and Miklas Moisander. Meanwhile Sivasspor had pulled one back through Leke James. Malmo are heading into the match on the back of a 1-1 draw against Mjallby in an Allsvenskan fixture last Sunday.

Malmo are currently sitting fifth in the Swedish top division standings with 34 points from 19 games, seven points adrift of the leaders Hacken. In their recent outing against Mjallby, Veljko Birmancevic canceled out Viktor Gustafson’s opener to share the spoils. Meanwhile, the Blue Ones have enjoyed an unbeaten run in the Europa League qualifiers so far and are now just 90 minutes away from progressing to the group stages of the competition. Andreas Georgson’s side are unbeaten in each of their last four games across all competitions.

Sivasspor, on the other hand, are still searching for their first victory of the 2022-23 season. The Turkish outfit registered two draws and a defeat from their opening two league games of the campaign. In their recent outing against Alanyaspor, Riza Calimbay’s side took the lead through Max Gradel before Idrissa Doumbia netted a last-ditch equaliser to share the points.

Probable Lineups

Sivasspor defender Samba Camara is sidelined with a knee injury, while veteran midfielder Hakan Arslan is out with a calf muscle issue. James is likely to lead the line with Gradel and Yesilyurt in support. As for Malmo, striker Adi Nalic is recovering from an ACL injury, while midfielder Mahame Siby is out with a hip problem. Thelin and Birmancevic are expected to form the front-two with Bejimo and Ceesay occupying the flanks.
