Silkeborg will host HJK Helsinki in the second leg of their Europa League qualifying playoff at the JYSK Park on Thursday. The first leg in Helsinki ended 1-0 in favour of HJK courtesy of David Brown’s 80th-minute goal. The hosts are heading into the match on the back of a 2-0 win over Nordsjaelland in a Danish Superliga fixture last Sunday. HJK, meanwhile, thrashed Haka 3-0 in a Veikkausliga match on the same day.

Silkeborg are currently sitting at the summit of the Danish Superliga standings with 13 points from their opening six games. In their recent outing against Nordsjaelland, Kent Nielsen’s side netted two times courtesy of a brace from Tonni Adamsen to secure all three points. It was Silkeborg’s fourth league win of the campaign.

HJK, on the other hand, are occupying third spot in the Finnish top division standings with 40 points from 19 games, level on points with the leaders FC Honka, but separated by goal difference. In their last game against Haka, Toni Joskela’s side scored three times without reply. Anthony Olusanya opened the scoring in the 38th-minutes, before Bojan Radulovic doubled the lead four minutes later. Aapo Halme netted the third goal of the night on the stroke of half time and secured the victory.
