Sheffield United will be hoping to get return to winning ways in the EFL Championship when they host Watford at Bramall Lane on Saturday. The hosts were beaten 3-2 away to Millwall last Saturday, while Watford got the better of West Bromwich Albion 3-2 on Tuesday. As of now, the Blades are occupying second spot in the English second tier standings, having collected 61 points from 32 games, just four clear of third-placed Middlesbrough and 12 adrift of the leaders Burnley. The visitors, meanwhile, have played an extra game than Sheffield, and are sitting at the seventh position, with 50 points to their name.Â
“If we get more things right than wrong, we can make it difficult for anyone.”

Sheffield United are going through a bit of a rough patch, having suffered back-to-back defeats in their last two outings. After an impressive 13-game unbeaten run across all competitions, the Blades were defeated 3-1 at home against Middlesbrough on February 15. Left disappointed with just their sixth defeat of the Championship season, Paul Heckingbottom’s side traveled to the Den to take on Millwall last weekend. The Blades lost a second consecutive game, despite the fact that Tommy Doyle and James McAtee got on the scoresheet. Tom Bradshaw’s hat-trick was enough for the Lions to take all three points against Sheffield. Â
Watford, on the other hand, are unbeaten in their last four games, three of those have been draws. Their lone win this month came against West Brom on Monday. Ken Sema opened the scoring for the Hornets, midway through the first-half before West Brom equalsied courtesy of Conor Townsend’s 56th-minute effort. Ten minutes later, Ismaila Sarr restored Watford’s lead, but Jed Wallace leveled the score for the Baggies, twenty minutes from time. And then, with just 12 minutes remaining, Sema netted his second of the night to secure the 13th league-win of the season for Watford.Â
Sheffield United’s injury list consists of Rhian Brewster, Billy Sharp, Enda Stevens, Rhys Norrington-Davies and George Baldock. Oli McBurnie and Iliman Ndiaye will continue to partner up front, with Jayden Bogle and Max Lowe occupying the flanks. As for Watford, head coach Slaven Balic is unlikely to make too many alterations to the side that started in the win over West Brom last time out. Keinan Davis will continue to lead the line, with Ismaila Sarr and Sema in support. Meanwhile, the likes of Dan Gosling, Edo Kayembe, Tom Cleverly, Francisco, Sierralta, Hassane Kamara and Craig Cathcart are sidelined with injuries.Â
Sheffield United probable line-up: Foderingham, Basham, Egan, Robinson, Bogle, Berge, Norwood, Doyle, Lowe, McBurnie, Ndiaye
Watford Probable line-up: Bachmann, Gaspar, Porteous, Hoedt, Morris, Kone, Choudhary, Sarr, Pedro, Sema, Davis
