After a blistering start to the season, Sheffield have dropped out of the summit following a five game winless streak. The Blades, who had pocketed an impressive 23 points from their opening 10 league games, have managed to earn just two points from the next five fixtures. Last time out, the South Yorkshire outfit lost to Coventry through Martyn Waghorn’s long goal, from the penalty spot, three minutes from time. Prior to that, Sheffield played out a dramatic 3-3 draw against Blackpool courtesy of goals from James McAtee, Iliman Ndiaye and Oliver Norwood.
Norwich, on the other hand, are winless in their last four games. The Canaries lost to Luton on Tuesday, courtesy of Carlton Morris’ lone goal in the 62nd minute. It was Norwich’s fifth league-defeat of the campaign and third in a row. Dean Smith’s side last tasted victory against Blackpool early in October courtesy of Teemu Pukki’s lone goal inside the opening 21 minutes. After that, the Canaries shared the spoils against Reading (1-1), before losing to Preston North End (3-2), Watford (2-1) and Luton.
Sheffield left-back Rhys Norrington-Davies was forced off early in the first half against Coventry, joining the likes of Max Lowe and Enda Stevens in the medical room. Therefore, Ben Osborn is expected to be deployed on the left flank against the Canaries. McBurnie is likely to spearhead the attack alongside Sharp. As for Norwich City, Kenny McLean will not be available for Saturday’s game because of a red card suspension. Meanwhile, the likes of Andrew Omobamidele, Adam Idah, Jonathan Rowe, Sam McCallum and Jacob Sorensen are sidelined with injuries.
Sheffield United probable starting lineup: Davies, Ahmedhodzic, Egan, Basham, Baldock, Norwood, Doyle, Osborn, Ndiaye, Sharp, McBurnie
Norwich City probable starting lineup: Gunn, Aarons, Hanley, Gibson, Giannoulis, Nunez, Sara, Gibbs, Sargent, Pukki, Sinani
