Sevilla will host Copenhagen in a UEFA Champions League fixture at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Tuesday. The hosts are currently occupying third spot in Group G, having collected just two points from four games, five points adrift of second-placed Borussia Dortmund, while Copenhagen are fourth in the section, level on points with their opponents here. Sevilla are heading into the match on the back of a 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in a La Liga match on Saturday, while the visitors played out a 1-1 draw against Midtjylland in a Danish Superliga fixture on the same day.

Sevilla needs to get three points on Tuesday to keep their hopes of going through to the last-16 alive. Meanwhile, a win for Dortmund against Manchester City in the later match in the section would make it impossible for Sevilla to advance to the next round of the competition. The Spanish outfit’s last champions League match against Dortmund last week ended in a 1-1 draw after Taguy Nianzou’s opener was canceled out by Jude Bellingham’s 35th-minute strike.

Copenhagen, on the other hand, began their Champions League group stage campaign with a 3-0 defeat to Dortmund, before playing out a goalless draw against Sevilla in September. Buth they then suffered a 5-0 defeat to Manchester City. However, in the reverse leg against the Premier League champions, the Danish outfit earned a point. Copenhagen’s situation is similar to that of Sevilla and realistically they would be aiming to secure a Europa League spot.
