Sassuolo twice came from behind to share the spoils against Udinese last time out. Matheus Henrique’s sixth-minute effort and Nehuen Perez’ own goal on the stroke of half time, helped the Watermelon Peel earn a point at Friuli. Prior to that, Alessio Dionisi’s side edged past Atalanta, thanks to Armand Lauriente’s lone goal, ten minutes into the injury time. After a run of eight game winless streak, Sassuolo have now taken eight points from their last four outings, and that includes a 5-2 win over reigning champions AC Milan.
Napoli, on the other hand, are looking to extend their winning streak to seven games in the top flight. Luciano Spalletti’s side resumed their league campaign following the World Cup break, with a narrow 1-0 defeat to Inter Milan, which was their first Serie A defeat of the season. Since then, the Blues have won each of their next six top flight matches, scoring a whopping 17 goals while conceding just 2 in that period. Last time out, Partenepoi thrashed rock-bottom side Cremonese, thanks to goals from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Victor Osimhen and Elif Elmas. It was their 19th league-win of the campaign.

Sassuolo full-back Jeremy Toljan is sidelined with a hamstring injury, therefore Nadir Zortea is likely to continue at the right-back position. Defrel is expected to spearhead the attack, with Dominico Berardi and Lauriente in support. As for Napoli, Spalletti might be tempted to rotate his squad as they will be traveling to Frankfurt for the Champions League last-16 tie in the mid-week. The likes of Ndombele and Giacomo Raspadori could feature on Friday in order to rest Piotr Zielinski and Kvaratskhelia.
