On Saturday, Zanocelo’s 66th-minute strike canceled out Pedro’s first-half opener before Gabriel Barbosa netted the winner for Flamengo. It was Santos’ fourth league defeat of the season and second one in their last four games across all competitions. Meanwhile Fabian Bustos’ side are winless in their last five games. Their previous victory was against Juventude on June 15 and the scoreboard read 2-1. The Black and White are languishing at the 10th spot in the Brazilian league table with 19 points from 15 games.
Deportivo Tachira, on the other hand, are heading into this fixture on the back of a narrow win over Mineros de Guayana courtesy of Renny Simisterra’s lone goal in the 37th-minute. Aurinegro’s form off late has been inconsistent, winning three of their last six games across all competitions while two of those games ended in defeats. Despite that, Alex Pallares’ side are performing well on the whole in the Venezuelan Primera Division, as they currently sit fourth in the table.
