Salernitana have recorded four wins, five draws and six defeats in the 2022-23 Serie A season thus far. The Garnets have fared well in their second consecutive top flight season following 23 years of playing football in the lower divisions. Last season, Salernita managed to avoid relegation by the skin of their teeth, having finished 17th in the standings, just one point clear of the drop zone. As a result, this has been a successful campaign so far, with the team sitting 10 points clear of the relegation zone. But Davide Nicola’s side have lost their last two league-games against Fiorentina and Monza.
AC Milan, on the other hand, got the better of Fiorentina in their last Serie A game, courtesy of Rafael Leao’s early opener and Nikola Milinkovic’s 91st-minute own goal. The Red and Blacks won the title last season, finishing two points ahead of second-placed Inter Milan, but it’s going to be a much tougher task this time around, with Napoli already boasting an eight point lead. Stefano Pioli’s side have the fifth-best away record in the Italian top flight this season, dropping points in four of their seven away fixtures.
