Gimnasia will be keen to continue their unbeaten run in the second phase of the Argentine Primera Division when they take on Rosario Central on Friday. The visitors will be hoping to get their first win on the road in the second phase of the competition when they travel to Estadio Gigante de Arroyito. Meanwhile, the hosts will be looking to maintain their unbeaten home form this campaign after winning and drawing the two matches they have played in their own backyard till now.
The visitors are only one of five teams who are yet to lose a match in the second phase of the Argentine Primera Division. Gimnasia won both their home games against Patronato and Racing Club but were only able to get draws in the two away fixtures. They are currently sitting third in the table with eight points from four games and will be hoping to get their first away win in the second phase of the competition.
On the other hand, Rosario Central will be looking to change its fortunes after having a mediocre start to the second phase. After drawing and losing the opening two fixtures, they got their first victory over Godoy Cruz in the third match. But they lost their last game on the road to Velez Sarsfield. Rosario Central are currently occupying the 23rd spot, having managed four points from four games.

It goes without saying that Rosario Central have not had the best of starts to the second phase and will be keen to correct it soon. They have only won one of the four games played till now. Infact their biggest problem has come in the attacking side of the game after Rosario managed only one goal so far in the competition. The lone goal was scored by their goalkeeper Gaspar Servio from the penalty spot in their 1-0 win over Godoy Cruz.
Hence, they will be hoping to score more goals in the coming matches from other avenues. On the other hand, Gimnasia will miss the services of Leandro Contin and Cristian Tarragona due to injuries for the upcoming clash. Infact, Tarragona’s participation again this season is in doubt due to an ACL injury.
