Chelsea football player Reece James’ house in England was recently robbed as the full-back was on European duty against Zenit St Petersburg on September 14. James has said that his Champions League winners medal and Euros runners-up medal were stolen from a safe. The fullback has banked on his fans and the community to help him catch the culprits on social media. Four CCTV clips were also released with the social media post, with James calling for help to identify those involved. The safe also contained James’ UEFA Super Cup medal. The CCTV clips that the footballer has released show four individuals, dressed in white with masks over their faces, breaking into his house.

James also wrote a lengthy message accompanying the four CCTV footage on his social media. He appealed to his fans and the community for help in tracking down the culprits and bringing them to justice. “On the evening of the 14th of September 2021 when I was playing for my club in the return of the Champions League, a group of cowardly robbers broke into my house,” James wrote.

“They managed to collectively lift a heavy safe containing some personal items of mine into their car. I never keep any jewellery of mine in my house so all that was contained in the safe were my Champions League winners medal and Super Cup winners medal and the runners-up medal for the Euro 2020. These medals were won representing Chelsea and England – honours that can never be taken away from me whether or not I have the physical medals to prove it,” the young English fullback added.

‘Luckily, no one was present during the break in’

James would then go on to ask for help to catch these individuals. The footballer also said that the police, his advisers, and his club were firmly behind him and that they were closing in on the alleged robbers. “Nevertheless, I am appealing to all my Chelsea and England fans to help identify and turn in these low life individuals who will never be able to rest easy as the evidence is mounting against them,” James continued.

“The police, my advisers and Chelsea FC (and many others) are all behind me as we have firm leads on who the perpetrators are. We are closing in on them. Luckily, no one was present during the break in but I want to let all of you know I am safe and well. I really do appreciate having the platform to tell you all about my misfortune and I hope together we can catch these individuals and deliver justice where it is due,” the full-back concluded.

James was part of the Chelsea side that hosted Zenit St Petersburg in the UEFA Champions League on the day of the robbery. The Blues emerged victorious in the match thanks to a second-half goal by Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku. The scoreline at the end of the match was 1-0 in favor of the home team. Chelsea will face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Sunday.
