Valladolid are heading into the match on the back of a goalless draw against Almeria last Sunday, while the visitors got the better of Osasuna 2-1.
Two teams battling for survival will be up against each other on Saturday evening as Real Valladolid host Getafe at Jose Zorrilla on the final match day of the 2022-23 La Liga season. The hosts are currently languishing at the 18th spot in the Spanish top flight standings, having collected 39 points from 37 games, just a solitary point adrift of safety, while Getafe are sitting at the 14th position, separated by just two points. Valladolid are heading into the match on the back of a goalless draw against Almeria last Sunday, while the visitors got the better of Osasuna 2-1.

After losing five consecutive games, Valladolid kept their survival hopes alive with a shock 3-1 victory over champions Barcelona thanks to Andreas Christensen’s own goal, Cyle Larin’s 22nd-minute penalty kick and Gonzalo Plata 73rd-minute effort. It was Pucelanos’s 11th top flight victory of the season, but they couldn’t make it back-to-back triumphs when they traveled to the Power Horse Stadium last Sunday, playing out a 0-0 draw with Almeria. After securing automatic promotion from the Segunda Division last term, White and Violets are at risk of dropping out of the La Liga after just one season.
Getafe, on the other hand, have their survival chances in their own hands, as a point on Sunday will be enough to extend their stay in the top flight for at least one more season irrespective of what happens in the other matches. But should they loose against Valladolid, Azulones will be relegated if Almeria and Celta Vigo avoid defeat in their respective fixtures. Jose Bordalas’s men are in pretty good form, having won three of their last five games, while taking ten points in the process. Last time out, Azulones secured their tenth league-win of the season against seventh-placed Osasuna thanks to Juanmi Latasa’s 39th-minute equaliser and Jaime Mata’s dramatic winner in the 90th-minute.
Real Valladolid probable starting lineup: Masip, Fresneda, Sanchez, Fernandez, Olaza, Plano, Mesa, Aguado, Plata, Machis, Larin
Getafe probable starting lineup: Soria, Suarez, Mitrovic, Alderete, Alvarez, Milla, Villar, Maksimovic, Munir, Latasa, Mata
