It was Leipzig’s first loss in 15 games in all competitions. In the quarter-finals, Rangers defeated Braga 3-2 on aggregate. The second leg at Ibrox stadium ended 3-1 in favour of the Scottish side courtesy of a double from James Tavernier and Kemar Roofe’s extra-time goal.
Rangers’ quarter-final second leg hero Roofe will be definitely on the sidelines along with Alfredo Morelos and Aaron Ramsey is also expected to miss out. Meanwhile Fashion Sakala is expected to get the nod down the middle of the Rangers attack.
As for Leipzig, they have numerous suspension issues for the fixture with Willi Orban, Mohamed Simakan and Kevin Kampl all missing out on Thursday. Nordi Mukiele and Lukas Klostermann have recovered from COVID-19 and are likely to be full fit for the clash.
