Rangers had a memorable 2021-22 season. Although they failed to retain the Scottish league title, Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side managed to reach the final of Europa League where they lost to Eintracht Frankfurt on penalties. Meanwhile the Teddy Bears managed to beat Hearts 2-0 in the Scottish Cup final and secure their only major title of last season. After the West Ham game, Rangers will face Tottenham Hotspur next Saturday before beginning their new Scottish League campaign against Livingston on July 30.
West Ham began their pre-season with a convincing 2-0 win over Servette, played out a 1-1 draw against Boreham wood before defeating Ipswich 2-1 and then shared the spoils against Reading in their recent outing. David Moyes’ side will also take on Luton Town and Lens before beginning their new Premier League season at home against defending champions Manchester City on August 7.

Rangers’ new arrivals Rabbi Matondo, Tom Lawrence and John Souttar all featured against Blackpool and are likely to get more game-time in order to gel with the team. The Scottish outfit have also sealed a loan deal for Bayern Munich midfielder Malik Tillman and the 20-year-old could make his debut on Tuesday. Ianis Hagi is sidelined with a knee injury, while Kemar Roofe, Filip Helander and Alfredo Morelos are also out with injuries.
