Porto, who won the Portuguese Premiera Liga title last season, have made a decent start to their title-defence, winning five of their opening six games, to be sitting at the third spot in the table, with 15 points, just three behind leaders Benfica, who are yet to lose a point. In their last match against Chaves, goals from Mehdi Taremi, Evanilson and Andre Franco helped the Dragons secure the win. Prior to that, Porto lost to Atletico Madrid at the Metropolitano stadium. However, Antonio Griezmann scored a dramatic 101st-minute winner for the Spanish outfit.

Club Brugge, on the other hand, secured all three points in their first group match of the European campaign. The Belgian outfit defeated Bayer Leverkusen courtesy of Abakar Sylla’s lone goal in the 42nd minute. After that, the Farmers put two goals past RFC Seraing without reply in a Belgian Pro League fixture last Saturday.Cyle Larin and Hans Vanaken netted for the Blau-Zwart at Stade du Pairay. It was Club Brugge’s sixth league win in eight games, and they are now sitting in third position in the standings, with 19 points.
