The hosts are heading into the tie on the back of a goalless draw against Columbus Crew last Sunday, while DC United got the better of Orlando City 5-3 in an entertaining match at Exploria stadium. Philadelphia are going through a brilliant season and are currently placed second in the Eastern Conference table with 30 points from 18 games. Philadelphia are just two points adrift of leaders NY Red Bulls, but the U have a game in hand and a victory against DC United would help them move to the summit of the standings. Last Sunday, Jim Curtin’s men missed a chance to go to the top after being held to a 0-0 draw at Lower.com field. Philadelphia were way below their best, creating just four goal-scoring chances and recording only two shots on target in the entries match. Meanwhile, Philadelphia’s latest form hasn’t been very great, registering just two wins from their last 12 games across all competitions.

Philadelphia midfielder Jose Martinez is back from suspension and is available for selection. Head coach Curtin is unlikely to make any changes to the back three consisting of Glesnes, Elliott and Findlay. Wagner and Gazdag would occupy the flanks with Bedoya, Mbazio and Flach forming the midfield trio. As for DC United, Ashton is likely to stick with the same starting lineup that got the job done against Orlando City. Last game’s hat-trick hero Fountas is expected to lead the attack alongside Kamara.
