With three final appearances between the sides, they will both be hoping that this is the season they can win their first European trophy. PSG finished second in the Division 1 Feminine last season and had to negotiate a qualifying round tie to earn a spot in the group stages of the Women’s Champions League. The French outfit defeated Hacken 4-1 on aggregate to secure a place in Group A, consisting of Chelsea, Real Madrid and Vlazina. PSG are heading into Thursday’s match full of confidence having recorded a seven-game unbeaten streak. Last time out, the Parisians took all three points against Dijon courtesy of goals from Lieke Mertens, Grace Geyoro and Ramona Bachmann.
Chelsea, on the other hand, have won three of their opening four Women’s Super League games this term, to be sitting at the third spot in the table. Last time out, Denise Reddy’s side beat Everton courtesy of a brace from Pernille Harder and Niamh Charles’s late strike. It was the Blues’ third consecutive win, where they have scored at least two goals in each game. The English outfit would be aiming to win the competition for the first time after losing to Barcelona in the 2020-21 final.
