Olympiacos will host Apollon Limassol in the second leg of their Europa League qualifying playoff at the Karaiskakis Stadium on Thursday night. The first leg in Limassol had ended in a 1-1 draw after Hwang In-Beom had canceled out Rangelo Janga’s opener.  Therefore, both sides are very much alive in this contest and will be aiming to get over each other with the finish line just 90minutes away. Meanwhile the hosts are heading into the match on the back of a 2-0 win over Giannina in a Super League Greece fixture last sunday.

Olympiacos, who had won the Greece top division title last term, began their title-defence with a convincing victory against Giannina. Red-Whites netted two times without reply courtesy of strikes from Mathieu Valbuena and Lazar Randelovic. Apollon, on the other hand, had won the 2021-22 Cypriot first division title. David Catala’s men would be looking to pick up an aggregate win and earn a spot in the group stages of Europa League. David Catala’s men had won the Cyprus Super Cup last week by beating Omonia 2-0 in the final.
