Steve Cooper’s newly promoted side kicked off their league campaign with a 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United, but then quickly got their acts together to secure a narrow 1-0 win over West Ham United. And then, in their last league game against Everton last week, Forest earned a point after Demarai Gray’s opener was canceled out by Brennan Johnson. Meanwhile in their recent outing against Grimsby Town, Cooper’s side netted three times without reply to go through to the third round of the EFL Cup. Ryan Yates opened the scoring before Sam Surridge netted a brace to seal the win.

Tottenham, on the other hand, have been in brilliant form, scoring seven goals in their last three games, while conceding just thrice. Antonio Conte’s side started their season with a convincing 4-1 victory over Southampton on August 6, before playing out a thrilling 2-2 draw against Chelsea a week later. And then, in their recent pouting against Wolves, Harry Kane’s lone goal from a set-piece helped Spurs earn three points.
Forest boss Cooper made 11 changes to his side’s trip to Grimsby Town in the EFL Cup on Tuesday and is likely to revert to his best playing eleven for Sunday’s game. Taiwo Awoniyi is expected to be the focal point up front with Johnson in support. Morgan Gibbs-White might operate behind the strikers. As for Spurs, Kane, son and Kulusevski are likely to form the front-three with Bentancur and Hojbjerb pulling the strings in the midfield. Meanwhile defender Christian Romero is sidelined with an adductor injury.
Nottingham Forest probable starting lineup: Henderson, Worrall, Cook, McKenna, Williams, Mangala, O’Brien, Toffolo, Gibbs-White, Johnson, Awoniyi
Tottenham Hotspur probable starting lineup: Lloris, Sanchez, Dier, Davies, emerson, Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Perisic, Kulusevski, Son, Kane
