Manchester United will be looking to make it three consecutive wins in the Premier League when they travel to City Ground on Sunday to take on struggling Nottingham Forest. The visitors are heading into the match on the back of a 2-2 draw against Sevilla in the Europa League on Thursday, while Forest suffered a 2-0 league-defeat away to Aston Villa last weekend. The hosts are currently languishing at the 18th spot in the English top tier standings, having collected just 27 points from 30 games, level on points with with Everton, who are enjoying the safety of 17th spot courtesy of a better goal-difference, but have played an extra match. The Red Devils, meanwhile, are sitting at the fourth position, with 56 points to their name from 29 matches, three clear of fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, who have played two games more.

Forest have recorded only six top flight victories this term and their last success came against Leeds United at the start of March, thanks to Brennan Johnson’s lone goal in the first half. Since then, Steve Cooper’s side went on a nine-game winless streak, including six defeats. Last Saturday, the Reds suffered their 15th league-defeat of the season against Aston Villa at Villa Park, courtesy of second-half efforts from Bertrand Traore and Ollie Watkins. Meanwhile, on a positive note, Tricky Trees have lost just one of their last 11 Premier League home contests and have failed to score only once in front of their own supporters in the Premier League this season.
Manchester United, on the other hand, were held to a draw against Sevilla in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final tie at Old Trafford on Thursday, despite taking a 2-0 lead inside the opening 20 minutes through Marcel Sabitzer’s brace. Injuries to Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez summed up a disastrous second 45 for Eric ten Hag’s team, but United must quickly turn their focus to the English top flight where they have lost their last two away-games and are adrift of third-placed Newcastle United only by goal-difference. Last Saturday, United recorded their 17th league-win of the season against Everton thanks to two unanswered goals from Scott McTominay and Anthony Martial.
