Premier League leaders Manchester City will travel to City Ground to take on Nottingham Forest on Saturday. Man City got the better of Arsenal 3-1 in their last outing in the mid-week and overtook the Gunners to move to the top of the English top flight standings. The Cityzens have collected 51 points from 23 games, level on points with Mikel Arteta’s side, who have a game in hand, but separated by goal-difference. Forest, on the other hand, are sitting at the 14th position, with 24 points to their name from 22 games, six points clear of the relegation zone. Meanwhile, their recent outing against Fulham ended in a 2-0 defeat last Saturday.

For the first time since November, Man City secured top spot in the Premier League table albeit on goal-difference, after securing a convincing win at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday. Pep Guardiola’s side surprisingly had just 36% of ball possession, but they capitalised on defensive errors from the Gunners to take all three points in North London. Kevin de Bruyne broke the deadlock for Man City mid-way through the first half, before Bukayo Saka equalised from the penalty spot, three minutes from the break. The contest was all square going into the final twenty minutes, but Jack Grealish restored Man City’s lead with a deflected effort before Erling Haaland’s 82nd-minute strike sealed the win. Haaland has now scored 26 Premier League goals this season, nine more than second-placed Harry Kane in the golden boot race.

Forest, on the other hand, have lost just once in their last six league-games, having pocketed 11 points during that period. Their lone defeat came against the Cottagers last time out, courtesy of Willian’s stunning opener and 88th-minute effort from ManorSolomon at Craven Cottage. Prior to that, Steve Cooper’s side edged past Leeds United at home, thanks to Brennan Johnson’s lone goal inside the opening 14 minutes. It was Tricky Trees’ sixth top flight victory of the season. Meanwhile, the Reds will be hoping to give a good account of themselves against the reigning champions, having suffered a 6-0 drubbing in the reverse fixture at Etihad Stadium more than six months ago.
