Forest took the lead through ex-Wolves man Willy Boly inside the opening 18 minutes, before Raul Jimenez equalised for Wolves in the 64th-minute. Both sides couldn’t be separated in regular time and the match went to penalties, where Dean Henderson was the 12-yard hero for Forest. The 25-year-old gloveman denied Ruben Neves and Joe Hodge from the penalty spot to send the Trick Trees into the final-four, where they will meet Manchester United. Meanwhile, Steve Cooper’s side’s last Premier League outing was against Southampton on January 5, which ended in a narrow 1-0 win courtesy of Taiwo Awoniyi’s 27th-minute strike. It was only their fourth league-win of the campaign.Â
Leicester, on the other hand, lost 1-0 to Fulham in their last English top flight match on January 4. The Foxes are winless in their last three league-games since the resumption of competitive action following the World Cup break. Meanwhile, last time out, Leicester lost to Newcastle in the Cup fixture, courtesy of second half goals from Dan Burn and Joelinton. It was their fourth defeat in the last six outings across all competitions. Brendan Rodgers’ side have recorded five wins, two draws and 11 defeats in the English top tier this term.
Forest has a long injury list which consists of Omar Richards, Cheikhou Kouyate, Giulian Biancone, Jesse Lingard and Moussa Niakhate. Meanwhile, full-back Neco Williams is expected to be back from an injury and feature on the bench, as a backup for right-back Serge Aurier. As for Leicester, Rodgers also has a pretty long injury list. The likes of Rocardo Pereira, Ryan Bertand, James Maddison, Boubakary Soumare, James Justin and Jonny Evans are occupying the treatment room. Kelechi Iheanaco might lead the line, with Albrighton, Perez and Barnes in support.Â
Nottingham Forest possible line-up: Henderson, Aurier, Worrall, McKenna, Lodi, Mangala, Yates, Freuler, Scarpa, Gibbs-white, Johnson
Leicester City possible line-up: Ward, Castagne, Amartey, Faes, Thomas, Ndidi, Tielemans, Albrighton, Perez, Barnes, Iheanacho
