Inter Milan will travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool in the Champions League last-16 second leg fixture on Tuesday. The Serie A side is aiming to overturn a two goal deficit having lost 2-0 in the first leg at San Siro. Inter head coach Somone Inzaghi believes that the tangible chance is there for them to go through to the quarter-finals, even though it is difficult. Inter did put up a good show in the first leg fixture but their wastefulness in front of goal cost them as the Reds managed to score two second half goals.

Speaking to the Italian broadcaster Sportmediaset.com, Inzaghi said “I think that nothing is impossible, in football as in life, It will be very difficult, because of the result but not the performance from the first leg.”

“We’ll go to Anfield to play a big match knowing we are facing one of the strongest teams in Europe,” he added.

On his selections for the starting eleven tomorrow, the coach stated that “I’ll leave my decisions until tomorrow as I always have.

“I have 23 players available,” he continued, “Barella and Kolarov are left at home. Whoever comes to Liverpool has every chance to play.”

“This is a very taxing period,” he said, “but I will try my best to face this match with the best team and the best preparation.

Inter are going into the Champions League clash on the back of a dominant 5-0 Serie A win over Salernitana on Saturday. Lautaro Martinez, who was going through a goal-drought, netted a hat-trick while Edin Dzeko scored a brace for Inzaghi’s side.

The architect of Inter’s victory was Nicolo Barella who was involved in three of the five goals the Nerazzurri scored. But the Italian midfielder won’t be available for Tuesday’s clash because of suspension and Arturo Vidal is expected to step in.

In the first leg fixture, Inter Midfielder Marcelo Brozovic wasn’t given too much space to work with by the Reds and thereby neutralised Inter’s threat from the midfield. Inzaghi will have to find a way to get his midfielders more involved in the game if he has to get the better of the Reds.

The likes of Hakan Calhanoglu and Vidal will have to step up or maybe the Italian tactician can bing in Alexis Sanchez who can provide the create spark.

“Tomorrow we have a different opponent, a different stadium,” he went on, “we won’t be playing at home in front of our fans. It will be more difficult but we are ready to play a football match.”
