Norwich are going through a rough patch, losing back-to-back games in their recent outings. Their last win came against Coventry City on January 20, courtesy of Michael Rose’s own goal and one goal each from Onel Hernandez, Josh Sargent and Kieran Dowell. It was their 12th second tier victory of the campaign. After that, David Wagner’s side were thrashed 3-0 by Burnley before suffering a narrow defeat to Bristol City, courtesy of Mark Sykes’s lone goal at Ashton Gate. The defeat has left the Canaries four points away from sixth-placed Watford. Meanwhile a return to the home turf will not necessarily be viewed as a positive either with Norwich having not won at Carrow road since October 29.
Hull City, on the other hand, have lost only once on the road since October 9. Their solitary defeat came against second-placed Sheffield United on January 20. After that, the Tigers recorded back-to-back wins against Queens Park Rangers (3-0) and Cardiff City (1-0), before sharing the spoils away to Stoke City last Saturday. Cyrus Christie’s 62nd-minute effort was enough for Liam Rosneior’s side to get the better of Cardiff at MKM stadium. It was their 11th league-win of the season. Meanwhile Hull City’s defence has been solid off late, having recorded three successive clean sheets while winning four of their last seven outings.
Norwich boss Wagner could be tempted to make some alteration to the starting eleven after losing back-to-back games. Hernandez might return to the playing eleven, replacing Marcelino Nunez up front. Teemu Pukki could spearhead the attack, with Sargent operating behind him in a free role. As for Hull city, Ryan Longman and Estupinan could lead the line, with Tufan and Slater occupying the flanks.
Norwich City Probable line-up: FGunn, Aarons, Omobamidele, Hanley, Giannoulis, Sara, McLean, Dowel, Sargent, Hernandez, Pukki
Hull City probable line-up: Ingram, Christie, Jones, McLoughlin, Elder, Tufan, Docherty, Seri, Slater, Longman, Estupinan
