Norwich made a strong start in their bid to return to the top tier of English football, recording four wins, two defeats and a draw so far. In their recent outing against Birmingham City, the Canaries came from behind to secure all three points. Birmingham broke the deadlock through Scott Hogan, five minutes into the second half, before Andrew Omobamidele equalised for Norwich in the 63rd minute. Just when it looked like the game might be heading into a draw, Onel Hernandez popped up with a 93rd-minute winner to send the Cannarries into the top two of the points table.
Coventry, on the other hand, are struggling at the opposite end of the table, having not recorded a single victory so far in four outings. Meanwhile, three of their home games were transferred due to pitch issues. After their opening day 1-1 draw at Sunderland, the Sky Blues suffered three successive defeats against Millwall (3-2), Hull City (3-2) and Preston North End (1-0). Emil Riis Jakobsen’s lone goal in the 73th-minute separated the two sides at Ricoh Arena on Wednesday.
Norwich City has several injury issues, as defenders Dimitris Giannoulis, Sam McCallum and Jacob Sorensen are all sidelined, leaving Sam Byran as the only available left-back. Sinani, Sargent and Hernandez are likely to be the front-three. As for Coventry, Brazilian Gustavo Hamer is expected to return to the midfield after serving a one match suspension. Gyokeres and Godden might be the striker-partners with Eccles and Bidwell occupying the flanks.
Norwich City probable starting lineup: Krul, Aarons, Hanley, Omobamidele, Byram, Nunez, McClean, Dowel, Sinani, Sargent, Hernandez,
Coventry City probable starting lineup: Noore, Panzo, McFadzean, Doyle, Eccles, Allen, Hamer, Sheaf, Bidwell, Gykeres, Godden
