Brazilian attacker Neymar da Silva Santos Junior has signed a contract extension with Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain. The extension has been signed for a further three seasons until 30 June 2025. The Brazilian international was most recently seen in action for the French club in the second leg of the semi-finals of the ongoing edition of the UEFA Champions League. PSG faced off against Manchester City, failing to secure a triumph that could have helped them reach the next round.

The Brazilian international joined the club in 2017 and has gone on to carve a place for himself among the club legends. Neymar has recorded 85 goals and 51 assists in his 112 games for PSG. PSG’s twinkle-toed no.10 has also broken into the top ten scorers in the club’s history.

Neymar has represented Brazil in 103 matches, scoring 64 goals. He has won 9 trophies so far with PSG: three Ligue 1 titles (2018, 2019 & 2020), two Coupes de France (2018 & 2020), two Coupes de la Ligue (2018, & 2020) and two Trophees des Champions (2018 & 2020).

‘Proud to be part of PSG’

The Brazilian also played a key role in PSG qualifying for their first-ever Champions League final in 2020. The year marked the 50th anniversary of the club.

“I’m really pleased to continue my adventure at Paris Saint-Germain. I’m very happy in Paris, and proud to be part of this squad, to work with these players, a great coach and to be part of the history of this club. These are things that make me believe even more in this great project. I have grown as a person here, as a human being and as a player, too. So I am very happy to extend my contract and I hope to win many more trophies here,” said Neymar.

“The core of our ambitious project to grow PSG is the heart, talent and dedication of our players. I am proud that Neymar Jr has reaffirmed his long-term commitment to the PSG family through to 2025, and will continue to delight fans. We are very happy to see him continue as part of our project and to be alongside us for many years to come,” concluded Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Chairman and CEO of Paris Saint-Germain.
