Stoke started the month of March with a thumping 5-1 win away to Sunderland, before defeating Blackburn Rovers 3-2 last Saturday. The Potter’s defeated Blackburn, courtesy of Ki-Jan Hoever’s first-half brace and a 75th-minute effort by Tyrese Campbell. It was their 13th second tier victory of the season. And then, three days later, Alex Neil’s side came from behind to earn a point against third-placed Middlesbrough at Riverside Stadium, thanks to Hoever’s equaliser on the stroke of half-time. Stoke have recorded 13 wins, eight draws and 13 defeats in the second tier this season so far. Meanwhile, the Potters’ home-form hasn’t been great this term, having pocketed just 22 points from a possible 54 so far.
Norwich, on the other hand, are unbeaten in their last three games on the road, while collecting five points from those outings. Last time out, the Canaries were held to a 1-1 draw by relegation-battlers Huddersfield on Wednesday night, despite taking the lead through Gabriel Sara’s 26th-minute effort. David Wagner’s side dominated the proceedings at John Smith’s Stadium, having close to 70% ball possession, recording 12 shots on goal, with three of them on target, while restricting Huddersfield to zero attempts on target. However, Grant Hanley’s own goal in the 65th-minute meant that the points were shared in West Yorkshire.
