Shakhtar put seven goals past Metalist 1925 on Saturday, courtesy of Oleksandar Zubkov’s brace, first-half efforts from Bohdan Mykhayilenchenkova and, Lassina Traore, 56th-minute own goal by Ihor Kurylo, and one goal each from Ivan Petryak and Yaroslav Rakitskyi. It was their 11th league-win of the season from 15 matches, taking their points tally to 36, level with Dnipro-1, occupying the top spot. Meanwhile, The Ukrainian outfit booked a place in the Europa League playoff via penalties after recording a 3-3 aggregate draw with Rennes.
Feyenoord, on the other hand, recorded two wins, two draws and and two defeats from six Europa League group-stage games to collect eight points, level with second placed Midtjylland, but separated by goal-difference. Meanwhile, when it comes to the domestic campaign, the Pride of South are occupying top spot in the Eredivisie table, having collected 55 points from 24 games, three clear of the chasing pack. Last time out, De Kuip edged past Groningen in the league, thanks to Oussama Idissi’s lone goal two minutes from time. It was their 16th- top flight victory of the season, and the result extended Feyenoord’s unbeaten run to 17 games across all competitions.
