Norwich City will host Sheffield United in an EFL Championship fixture at Carrow road on Saturday. The hosts are heading into the match on the back of a goalless league-draw away to Stoke City on March 18, while Sheffield United got the better of Blackburn Rovers 3-2 in their FA Cup quarter-final match. As of now, the Blades are occupying second spot in the English second tier standings, having collected 70 points from 37 games, just three clear of third-placed Middlesbrough, who have played an extra match. Norwich, meanwhile, are sitting at the seventh position with 57 points to their name, only three points adrift of the top six.

Norwich are winless in their last three outings, collecting just two points during that period. After the 1-0 defeat to Sunderland on March 12, Canaries shared the spoils against Huddersfield and Stoke City. Last time out, David Wagner’s side produced a poor performance in the 0-0 draw against Stoke at Bet 365 Stadium, recording only one shot on target in the entire match and were on the back foot for most of the 90 minutes of play. Norwich have secured 16 league-wins this term and their last victory came against Millwall (3-2) on March 4 thanks to Jacob Sorensen’s 38th-minute effort, an own goal by Tom Bradshaw ten minutes into the second half, and Gabriel Sara’s 65th-minute strike.

Sheffield United, on the other hand, are undoubtedly one of the strong contenders to secure an automatic qualification spot this season. After the 1-0 defeat to Luton Town at home on March 11, Paul Heckingbottom’s side bounced back with a come from behind 2-1 win away to Sunderland. It was their 21st league-win of the season. And then, the Blades went into the international break with a thrilling 3-2 win over the Rovers to secure a place in the last four of the FA Cup. Heckingbottom’s side twice came from behind to earn the win at Bramall Lane courtesy of Sam Gallagher’s 28th-minute own goal and two late efforts from Ole McBurnie and Tommy Doyle. Meanwhile, Sheffield United have the third-best away record in the Championship this term, having collected an impressive 34 points from a possible 57 on the road so far.
