Serie A leaders Napoli will host Eintracht Frankfurt in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League last-16 tie at Diego Maradona Stadium on Wednesday night. Meanwhile the hosts are heading into the match on the back of a convincing 2-0 win over Atalanta in the Italian top flight this weekend, while Frankfurt played out a 1-1 Bundesliga-draw against VFB Stuttgart, on the same day.

Napoli are still reigning supreme in the Serie A, sitting at the summit of the table, with 68 points to their name from 26 games, 18 points clear of the chasing pack. Although Luciano Spalletti’s side suffered their first league-defeat at home ground last week, against Lazio, Partenopei quickly got back to winning ways on Saturday as they eased their way past Atalanta. Second-half efforts from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Amir Rahmani helped Napoli get the better of Atalanta and register their 22nd top tier victory of the season. Meanwhile, when it comes to the Champions League, the Blues have racked up 22 goals this term and are unbeaten in 10 European games in front of home supporters.
Eintracht Frankfurt, on the other hand, are going through a rough patch, having not tasted victory in their last four outings across all competitions. After the defeat to Napoli at Deutsche Bank Park three weeks ago, the Eagles lost to RB Leipzig in the German top flight, before sharing the spoils against Wolfsburg and VFB Stuttgart. Last time out, Frankfurt earned the point against Stuttgart, thanks to Sebastian Rode’s goal from their only shot on target. The Eagles are currently occupying sixth spot in the Bundesliga table, with 40 points to their name from 24 games, five points shy of the top-four.
