Manchester United are heading into the match on the back of a 1-0 Europa League-win over Real Betis on Thursday, thanks to Marcus Rashford’s 56th-minute effort. The result helped the Red Devils to seal their place in the last eight of Europe’s second tier tournament with a 5-1 aggregate win. Having already clinched the EFL Cup title, Eric ten Hag’s side are mathematically pursuing silverware in three more fronts. The Red Devils posted 3-1 win against Everton, Reading and West Ham to make the quarter-finals of the 2022-23 FA Cup. United defeated the Hammers in the previous round on March 1, courtesy of Nayef Aguerd’s own goal, and a late flurry from Alejandro Garnacho and Fred. The 13-time champions are aiming to lift their first FA Cup title since the 2015-16 season.
Fulham, on the other hand, are looking to reach the last four of the FA Cup for the first time in over 20 years. The Cottagers’ last quarter-final appearance came way back in 2009-10 season where they were eliminated by Tottenham Hotspur. This time around, Marco Silva’s side overcame the likes of Hull City, Sunderland and Leeds United to make this far. Fulham defeated Leeds in the previous round, courtesy of goals from Joao Palhinha and Manor Solomon. Meanwhile, the Whites are heading into the match on the back of a disappointing 3-0 Premier League-defeat against Arsenal last Sunday.
