The 156th Derby della Mole in the Serie A is set to take place on Thursday night when Juventus play host to Torina at Allianz Stadium. Both sides are separated by just one point in the Italian top flight standings, with the hosts  occupying eighth spot in the table, having collected 32 points from 23 games, while Torino are sitting one place behind the Bianconeri. Juve are heading into the match on the back of a stunning 3-0 win over Nantes in the second leg of their Europa League playoff tie on Thursday. The visitors, meanwhile, played out a 2-2 league draw against rock bottom side Cremonese last Monday.

Juventus have won five of their last six games across all competitions this month. Massimiliano Allegri’s side put three goals past Nantes to secure a 4-1 aggregate win and progress to the last-16 stage of the Europa League. Bianconneri thrashed Nantes courtesy of Argentine World Cup winner Angel di Maria’s hat-trick at Stade de la Beaujoire. Prior to that, Massimiliano Allegri’s side defeated Spezia 2-0 away from home in the top flight, thanks to goals from Moise Kean and Di Maria. It was their 14th league-win of the season, but because of the point deduction, Juve are sitting 13 points adrift of the top-four.

Torino, on the other hand, are left with only the Serie A to focus on, having been eliminated from the quarter-finals of Copa del Rey by Fiorentina earlier this month. The Bull have been pretty good in the league this season, having recorded 14 wins, as many defeats and five draws thus far. Last time out, Maroons shared the spoils against a struggling Cremonese despite the fact that Antonio Sanabria and Wilfried Singo got on the scoresheet. The Granta are currently ten points adrift of the top-six and will be looking to better their last season’s tenth place finish this time around.
