Inter are currently occupying third spot in the Italian top flight standings, having collected 47 points from 24 games, just a solitary point behind second-placed Lazio, who have played an extra match. The visitors, meanwhile, are sitting at the 15th position, with 27 points to their name, ten clear of the relegation zone.

Inter Milan’s six-game unbeaten run across all competitions came to an end last Sunday away to Bologna, courtesy of Riccardo Orsolini’s lone goal 14 minutes from time. It was their seventh league-defeat of the season. Despite not having a great Serie A campaign, Simone Inzaghi’s side have done pretty well in Europe and the Coppa Italia, having booked a meeting with Juventus in the semi-final of the Cup competition, while taking a 1-0 lead against Porto in the Champions League last-16 tie. Lecce, on the other hand, have fared pretty well on the road in the recent weeks, having defeated the likes of Cremonese and Atalanta. Marco Baroni’s side have lost only one of their last four outings, including a 1-1 draw against Roma. Last time out, the Wolves lost to Sassuolo, courtesy of Kristian Thorstvedt’s lone goal in the second half. Prior to that, the Yellow and Reds defeated Atalanta 2-1 at Gewiss Stadium, thanks to Asaan Ceesay’s fourth-minute opener and a 74th-minute effort from Alexis Blin. Although the Goddess pulled one back through Rasmus Hojlund, three minutes from time, Lecce held on to the slender lead and secured all three points. It was their sixth top flight victory of the season.
Inter defender Milan Skriniar and attacker Federico Dimarco have recovered from a back problem and muscle injury respectively, and are likely to feature on the bench on Sunday. Ronelu Lukaku, who is searching for his 50th Serie A for Inter, will be the target-man up front, with Lautaro Martinez in support. As for Lecce, the defensive trio of Kastriot Dermaku, Merin Pongracic and Marin Pongracic are not available for the game against Inter because of fitness issues and suspension.
