The draw for the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals is here and it has not disappointed. Defending champions Real Madrid face Chelsea yet again for the third consecutive time. Real Madrid defeated Chelsea in extra time last year after they were down 3-0 at home. This quarter final win against Chelsea boosted their confidence as they had lost out to The Blues the year before in the Semi-Finals. This matchup will be very important for both teams as Chelsea seeks revenge while Real Madrid looks to win the Champions League to offset their poor performances in the league.

Benfica moved out of the round of 16 draws against Club Brugge after defeating them 7-1 on aggregate. They have been drawn against Inter Milan who scrapped through against Tottenham Hotspurs after winning 1-0 on aggregate. Benfica are dominating the Portuguese league even after the departure of their star players, Enzo Fernandes and Darwin Nunez. Inter is currently second in the league and might play Benfica without Robin Gosens and Bastoni as both are out with an injury.

AC Milan, who won the League title last year, will compete against Napoli, who are currently leading the league with 18 points. Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, will compete against Bayern, the team he coached from 2013 to 2016, and won seven major championships, including three Bundesliga titles. Joao Cancelo, who recently moved to Bayern on loan, is another link between City and Bayern. He will be able to play against his original club now that he is in Germany. This will also be Pep’s first meeting with Bayern after leaving them in 2016.
