Brighton are heading into the match on the back of a 1-1 draw away to Crystal Palace last Saturday, while the visitors got the better of Nottingham Forest 2-0, on the same day.
Brighton & Hove Albion will be hoping to extend their unbeaten run to eight games across all competitions, when they host Fulham in a Premier League fixture at Falmer Stadium on Saturday. The hosts are currently occupying sixth position in the English top tier standings, having pocketed 35 points from 21 games, just four adrift of fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, who are occupying the final European qualification spot. Fulham, meanwhile, have played two games extra and are sitting one place behind the Seagulls, level on points but separated by goal-difference. Brighton were unlucky not to take all three points at Selhurst Park last week. Pervis Estupinan was denied his first Brighton goal midway through the first half, after the VAR official incorrectly drew the wrong line to award an offside decision against the Ecuadorian. The Seagulls went on to share the spoils after Solly March’s 63rd-minute opener was canceled out by James Tonlins, six minutes later. Roberto De Zerbi’s men recorded 75% of ball possession and attempted 17 shots on goal, with seven of them on target. Meanwhile, Brighton have scored more Premier League goals (24) than any other team across the last 10 fixtures.
Fulham, on the other hand, defeated Forest in their last match, thanks to Willian’s stunning first-half opener and Manor Solomon’s late effort. It was their 10th top flight victory of the season. Marco Silva’s men are now just six points adrift of the top-four. If Fulham are to get the better of the Seagulls on Saturday, they might have to rely on their expertise from set-pieces as no other Premier League side has scored more goals from dead ball situations than the Cottagers (35). Meanwhile Aleksandar Mitrovic is going to be key to Fulham’s chances of going a long way as the Serbian is their top scorer with 11 league-goals to his name this season.
Brighton’s injury list consists of Jakub Moder, Levi Colwill and Danny Welbeck, while Adam Lallana is doubtful for Saturday’s game because of a muscle issue. Evan Ferguson is expected to spearhead the attack, with Mitoma, March and Pascal Gross in support. As for Fulham, Tom Cairney and Neeskens Kebano are sidelined with injuries. Mitrovic, who has scored four goals against the Seagulls, will continue to lead the line, with Willian and Bobby Decordova-Reid occupying the flanks.
Brighton Probable line-up: Sanchez, Lamptey, Webster, Dunk, Estupinan, Caicedo, Mac Allister, March, Gross, Mitoma, Ferguson
Fulham probable line-up: Leno, Tete, Diop, Ream, Robinson, Reed, Palhinha, Decordova-Reid, Pereira, Willian, Mitrovic
