Both sides are heading into the match on the back of victories in their last outings on Saturday, with the hosts edging past Hoffenheim 1-0, while Leipzig got the better of Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1.
Borussia Dortmund will be aiming to extend their winning run to ten games across all competition, when they host Red Bull Leipzig in a Bundesliga fixture at Signal Iduna Park on Friday night. Both sides are heading into the match on the back of victories in their last outings on Saturday, with the hosts edging past Hoffenheim 1-0, while Leipzig got the better of Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1. As of now, Dortmund are occupying second spot in the German top flight standings, having collected 46 points from 22 games, level on points with leaders Bayern Munich but separated by goal-difference. The visitors, meanwhile, are sitting two places behind BVB at the fourth position, separated by four points.
🎙 Edin Terzic:
“For many, it is a very special game. Tomorrow we have the next chance to be louder than ever! In the current season, it will probably be the most important week for us so far.” pic.twitter.com/zimWu3q0Xx

Dortmund are in stunning form, having won each of their last nine matches in all competition, following the resumption of competitive action after the World Cup break. Last time out, Edin Terzic’s side secured a narrow win over Hoffenheim, thanks to Julian Brandt’s 43rd-minute strike. BVB dominated the proceedings at Rhein-Neckar Arena, recording 11 shots on target. It was their 15th league-win of the season, which is more than any other team in the German top flight this season. Meanwhile, Dortmund travel to London to take on Chelsea in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Tuesday, as they attempt to hold onto their 1-0 lead and book their place in the last eight of Europe’s elite club competition.
RB Leipzig, on the other hand, played out a 1-1 draw against Manchester City in the first leg of their European tie last month and will be traveling to the Etihad stadium next week for the away leg. After securing a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Man City, Marco Rose’s side defeated Frankfurt in the league, last Saturday, courtesy of first-half efforts from Timo Werner and Emil Forsberg. Victory moved Leipzig back into the Champions League qualification places, but fifth-placed Freiburg are just one point behind the Red Bulls.
