Andorra will host Romania in a UEFA Euro 2024 qualifier at Estadi Nacional on Saturday night. Switzerland, Israel, Kosovo and Belarus also comprise the intriguing Group I. Andorra had a decent Nations League campaign last year, recording two wins, two draws and two defeats to collect eight points from six games and finish at the third spot in League D Group 1. And then, Koldo Alvarez’s side ended the year with a two back-to-back defeats against Austria and Gibraltar in international friendlies. The Tricolours lost to Gibraltar courtesy of Roy Chipolina’s first-half effort. Andorra’s last triumph came against Liechtenstein in the Nations League in September, 2022, thanks to two unanswered goals from Berto Rosas and Joan Cervos.
Romania, on the other hand, have recorded three wins, one draw and a defeat from their last six games in al competitions. After narrowly missing out on second spot in their World Cup qualification group, Edward Iordanescu’s side had a disastrous Nations League campaign, finishing at the bottom of League B Group 3 and got relegated to League C. The Tricolours took just seven points from their encounters with Montenegro, Finland and Bosnia and Herzegovina. And then, Romania took part in a pair of friendlies in November last year, losing 2-1 to Slovenia before putting five goals past Moldova without reply last time around.
