Newcastle have been in stunning form off late, having won each of their last five games across all competitions. In their latest outing against Crystal Palace in the EFL Cup third round tie, the Magpies managed to secure a 3-2 win on penalties after both sides failed to find the back of the net in regular time. Prior to that, Eddie Howe’s side thrashed Southampton 4-1 in a League-match last weekend. Miguel Almiron, Chris Wood, Joe willock and Bruno Guimaraes found the back of the net for Newcastle at St. Mary’s Stadium. It was the Magpies’ seventh league-win of the campaign.
Chelsea, on the other hand, are heading into the match on the back of a two-game losing streak. Graham Potter’s side conceded two times against Man City on Wednesday to get eliminated from the EFL Cup on Wednesday evening. Prior to that, The Blues suffered a narrow 1-0 loss to Arsenal in a League fixture courtesy of Gabriel Maglhaes’ 63rd-minute strike. It was the London outfit’s fourth league-defeat of the campaign, extending their winless run in the league to four games.
