At BC Place, last Sunday, New England struggled to create enough quality goal-scoring chances but looked very solid at the back to keep a clean sheet and earn a point. The Revs are normally known for their lethal attacking game plan and it was a surprise for many of their fans to see their compact defensive display, not giving too much space to the opposition attackers. Bruce Arena’s side has won two of their last five games, while the other three ended in draws.
Cincinnati, on the other hand, played out a thrilling 4-4 draw against New York City, last Wednesday. At the TQL Stadium, Luciano Costa opened the scoring before Brenner netted a hat-trick to share the spoils against the Pigeons. Off late, Cincinnati’s form hasn’t been very great, winning just one of their last five games, while two of those ending in defeats. Prior to the New York City draw, the Orange and Blue got the better of Orlando City courtesy of Brenner’s lone goal in the 65th minute. With 24 points from 17 games, both teams are just five points adrift of the leaders Montreal.
