Middlesbrough had an impressive pre-season, winning four of their five friendlies, against the likes of Bishop Auckland (5-0), York City (3-2), Morecambe (3-0) and Marseille. While their only defeat came against Braga (3-0). Last Friday, against the French outfit, Isaiah Jones and Marcus Tavernier netted for Chris Wolder’s side to secure the win. The Boro have bolstered their squad this summer by signing Darragh Lenihman, Zack Steffen and Ryan Giles.
West Brom, on the other hand, recorded four wins from six friendlies this summer. Steve Bruce’s side got the better of Hearth in their recent outing last weekend courtesy of goals from John Swift and Daryl Dike. The Baggies have made some additions to strengthen their squad by bringing in John Swift and Jed Wallace.
