El Tri secured a narrow 1-0 win over Peru on Saturday, while Colombia thrashed Guatemala 4-1 on the same day.
World Cup bound side Mexico will take on Colombia in an international friendly at Levi’s stadium in California on Tuesday. Both sides are heading into the match on the back of victories in their last friendlies. El Tri secured a narrow 1-0 win over Peru on Saturday, while Colombia thrashed Guatemala 4-1 on the same day. Meanwhile, this would be the first meeting between these two sides in over 10 years. Mexico will begin their World Cup campaign against Poland on November 22, while the 2014 quarter-finalists, Colombia failed to qualify for the quadrennial event in Qatar.

Mexico got the better of Peru on Saturday, courtesy of Hirving Lozano’s lone goal, five minutes from time. It was El Tri’s second win in their last six outings across all competitions. Meanwhile Head coach Gerardo Martino won’t be very happy with his side’s performance against la Blanquirroja, as they managed to record only one shot on target in the entire match. It was a Cagey affair at the Rose Bowl in California. Although Mexico’s attacking third hasn’t been in great touch, their defence has been pretty solid, having kept three clean sheets in their last five games across all competitions.
