Reading travel to Old Trafford for a difficult assignment against Manchester United in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday night. At this moment, it seems unlikely that the visitors will pull off an upset in this tie, however, cup games have a history of producing surprising results. Hence, Reading will hope to pull off one of those stunning upsets on Saturday night. In order to that though the visitors must be at the top of their game.

However, it will be difficult to see Reading coming up with a special performance of that manner, especially when their recent form is taken into account. They are sitting 14th in the Championship table with 37 points from 28 games. In their last Championship match though, Stoke City humbled them 4-0. Nonetheless, they can hope that cup football offers them a welcome distraction from their inconsistent form in the league.

They are on a two-game winless run in the Premier League. However, if those games are kept aside, the Red Devils’ form since the World Cup has been impressive. Even in the league, Man United are sitting in a healthy fourth spot with 39 points from 20 matches.
