Leicester City will be looking to make three successive victories in the Premier League when they travel to Old Trafford on Sunday to play Manchester United. The Foxes are heading into the match on the back of a thumping 4-1 victory away to Tottenham Hotspur last Sunday, while United played out a pulsating 2-2 draw against Barcelona at Camp Nou in the first leg of their Europa League playoff tie on Thursday. The Red Devils are currently sitting at the third spot in the English top tier standings, having collected 46 points from 23 games, just eight adrift of leaders Arsenal. Leicester, meanwhile, have played a game less, and are languishing at the 14th position, with 24 points to their name, four clear of the relegation zone.

Manchester United will be heavy favourits for Sunday’s game, having not lost a domestic home game since the opening weekend of the season. The Red Devils have been in stunning form since returning from the World Cup break, losing just once in their last 16 outings across all competitions. Last time out, Erik ten Hag’s side earned an impressive draw in Catalonia, courtesy of Marcus Rashford’s opener and an own goal by Jules Kounde. Prior to that, United defeated Leeds United 2-0 in the league on Sunday, thanks to late goals from Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho. It was their 14th top flight victory of the season.

Leicester, on the other hand, have recorded back-to-back wins over Aston Villa and Tottenham in their last two outings. Last time out, the Foxes took all three points at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, courtesy of goals from James Maddison, Kelechi Iheanacho and Harvey Barnes. It was their sixth league-win of the season. Although their attackers have been clinical up front, having scored a total of eight goals in the last two outings, the defenders have failed to keep a clean sheet since the World Cup break.

The previous meeting between these two sides was less than six months ago, which ended 1-0 in favour of Manchester United, thanks to Jadon Sancho’s first-half effort. However, the Foxes have managed to register three wins against United in the last six encounters, and two of those wins have come at Old Trafford.
