Malmo were thrashed 3-0 by Zalgiris over two legs last month. The first leg at Zalgiris had ended 1-0 in favour of the home side courtesy of Fabien Ourega’s lone strike. And then in the second leg, Mathias Kehinde and Renan Oliveira netted for the Lithuanian outfit to eliminate Malmo from the Champions League qualification. Milos Milojevic’ side haven’t had a great 2022 domestic campaign, sitting at the fifth spot in the Allsvenskan standings with 30 points from 16 games, three points adrift of the leaders Djurgarden.
F91 Dudelange, on the other hand, made a positive start to their Champions League qualification by getting the better of Tirana 3-1 over two legs in the first round. And then, the first leg of the Champions League second qualifying round ended 1-0 in favour of the Luxembourg outfit courtesy of Samir Hadji’s lone goal from the penalty spot. But then, Carlos Fanguero’s men failed to hold on to the slender lead, lost the second leg 4-1 and therefore suffered a 4-2 aggregate loss against the Armenian outfit.
Malmo midfielder Mahme Siby suffered a serious injury in his last outing and the French midfielder is set to miss the rest of the season. Midfielder Andreas Christensen is unavailable due to suspension and Oscar Lewicki is sidelined with a groin problem. Therefore Moustafa Zeiden is likely to feature in the middle of the park alongside Pena and Rakip. As for F91 Dudelange, Samir Hadji and Mohcine Hassan are likely to partner up front with Dejvid Sinani operating behind them in a free role. Morren is expected to sit in front of the back-four with captain Kirch and Bojic occupying the flanks.
Malmo probable starting lineup: Dahlin; Bejimo, Hadzikadunic, Moisander, Knudsen; Pena, Rakip; Berget, Zeiden, Brimancevic; Toivonen
F91 Dudelange probable starting lineup: Fox; Diouf, Da Costa, Skenderovic; Ouassiero, Bojic, Morren, Kirch; sinani; Hadji, Hassan
The Europa League qualifier between Malmo and F91 Dudelange will take place at Eleda Stadion on Thursday at 10:30 pm IST.
