Liverpool made a below-par start to the new Premier League season, which saw them draw matches that they won comfortably last season. Even though in the league they have only lost once against Manchester United, their overall inconsistency has left their supporters worried. What made things worse was their 4-1 drubbing against Napoli in the midweek. Meanwhile, Wolverhampton Wanderers also had a slow start to the season. Infact they won their first match of the league season only last weekend when they edged past Southampton. Wolves are lying 14th in the table, while Liverpool are placed seventh.
Liverpool’s injury woes are set to continue with the Reds set to miss a good number of players for Saturday’s clash as well. Jordan Henderson and Calvin Ramsay will be joined on the sidelines by Curtis Jones, Ibrahima Konate, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Question marks still hang over the availability of Fabio Carvalho and Caoimhin Kelleher. The only positive is the return of midfielder Thiago Alcantara. Wolves will miss Sasa Kalajdzic, while there are fitness doubts over Raul Jimenez’s participation. Otherwise, they have more or less everyone available for the clash.
