Liechtenstein will host Andorra in a UEFA Nations League fixture at the Rheinpark Stadion on Thursday night. Liechtenstein are currently languishing at the bottom of League D Group 1, yet to open their account from four games, while the visitors are one place above them, at the third position, having accumulated four points from as many games thus far.
The Principality’s stay in the bottom of fourth tier is set to continue following their disastrous start to the campaign, in which they managed to find the back of the net only once in four games in the summer. Martin Stocklasa’s side began their Nations League campaign with a 2-0 defeat to Moldova, before losing to Latvia (1-0) and Andorra (2-1). And then, in their recent outing against Latvia, in the reverse fixture, Vladislavs Gutkovskis’ brace handed the defeat to the Blue-Reds.

Andorra, on the other hand, have managed to register one win and a draw thus far. The Tricolors’ lone win came against Thursday’s opponents in the reverse fixture on June 11, courtesy of goals from Jordi Alaez and Jesus Rubio. Koldo Alvarez’s side are three points away from second-placed Moldova, who will be taking on Latvia, earlier in the day.

Liechtenstein defender Niklas Beck is unavailable for Thursday’s game due to suspension, as does Aron Sele. 24-year-old Yanik Frick, who remains without a club, could lead the line, with Brandle and Hasler occupying the flanks. As for Andorra, Maz Llovera and Albert Alavedra could partner in the heart of the defence with Viera and Clemente pulling the strings in the midfield.
