Manchester United got another away win and they had to work hard for it till the end for all three points. In a rather dull and evenly matched 80 mins both teams were looking for an opening but it was Manchester United who came out on top and went home with all three points in the bag. Leeds United were arguably the better side for the most of the game but failed to convert their chances which proved to be costly at the end. De Gea marked his 400th Premier League appearance with a clean sheet and stepped up to make big saves against Bamford, Sumerville and Gnoto. The Red Devils hit the bar in the second half thanks to the strike by Dalot before Rashford and Garnacho scored in the last 10 minutes to seal all three points. Let’s have a look at the talking points from this game.

Fred was everywhere today for Manchester United

Fred is currently loving life at Manchester United and gave another dominant performance in the heart of United’s midfield today. He was solid throughout the game and complemented his pivot partner, Sabitzer, well today. Going forward he made the second most passes (8) into the final third and he also had the most tackles (7) in the match. In Casemiro’s absence, Fred ran the show in midfield and was everywhere today.

Ten Hag’s substitutions were on point today

In the 61st minute, Ten Hag brought on Martinez and Garnacho for Malacia and Sancho. This move resulted in Shaw moving to his natural left back position and Rashford having more freedom and space through the centre. Shaw was more involved in the attack and also delivered an amazing cross to Rashford which resulted in the opening goal for the Red Devils. Garnacho had a positive impact on the game and he also scored for United in the 85th minute. Bringing Wan-Bissaka on for Dalot provided more defensive stability on the right flank as Dalot looked a bit tired in the end. Lisandro Martinez also showed his class today through his distribution and defensive actions. It’s safe to say that all the substitutions from Ten Hag had a positive impact on the game.

Marcus Rashford is Inevitable

Rashford is the most in-form player in the Premier League right now and he continues his hot goal scoring streak as he was on the scoresheet again for the Red Devils tonight. Despite being a spectator for the most of the game, he capitalized on the one chance he got as he scored a beautiful header and helped his team to break the deadlock against Leeds United. Rashford has now scored 12 goals in the Premier League this season and is clearly in the form of his life.
