Lazio kicked off their European campaign with a fine victory against the dutch outfit. Luis Alberto and Felipe Anderson put the Eagles ahead inside the opening 15 minutes before Matias Vecino netted a brace to seal the win. Prior to that, the White and Sky Blues suffered their first Serie A defeat of the campaign, at home, against Napoli (2-1). Although Mattia Zaccagni gave an early lead to the Eagles, Napoli netted twice through Kim-min Jae and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to secure all three points.
Verona, on the other hand, secured their first Serie A win of the season against Sampdoria last Sunday. Emil Audero’s own goal canceled out Francesco Caputo’s opener, before Josh Doig’s strike, on the stroke of halftime, helped Verona secure all three points. Prior to that, the Scaligers played out a 1-1 draw against Empoli. Yayah Kallon’s 69th-minute strike canceled out Tommaso Baldanzi’s opener to share the spoils.
